Boris Kodjoe
Biography
Boris Kodjoe is an Austrian-German actor who came to acting by way of modeling. Born in Vienna, he spent his childhood in Germany. His first major screen role was Damon Carter on the Showtime drama Soul Food, a part he played between 2000 and 2004. Films followed, among them Love & Basketball (2000), Brown Sugar (2002), The Gospel (2005), in which he played David Taylor, and Surrogates (2009). He appeared as Luther in Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) and returned for Resident Evil: Retribution (2012). On television he had roles in Undercovers, The Last Man on Earth, Code Black as the surgeon Will Campbell, and Station 19 as the fire captain Robert Sullivan. He was also a regular on Real Husbands of Hollywood, playing a version of himself. Twice he has been nominated for NAACP Image Awards, for supporting performances in Soul Food and Real Husbands of Hollywood.
