Aimee Garcia
Biography
Aimee Garcia is an American actress, filmmaker, and writer who started out in commercials as a child and studied at the Piven Theatre Workshop while growing up in Oak Park, Illinois. She performed in plays and musicals at Northwestern University, then headed to Los Angeles in 2002 to focus on acting. Early screen work included the Disney Channel movie Cadet Kelly (2002) and the WB sitcom All About the Andersons. She is known for the television roles of Veronica Palmero on George Lopez, Jamie Batista on Dexter, for which she earned a SAG Award ensemble nomination, Yvonne Sanchez on Vegas, and Ella Lopez on Lucifer. Her films include RoboCop (2014) and Christmas with You (2022). With AJ Mendez she wrote comic book series and the screenplay for Blade of the 47 Ronin, and she voiced Alex Gonzalez in Dragons: The Nine Realms.

A change of course
Garcia took a year off from acting to work for a mutual fund analyst in Brooklyn. She was unsatisfied, so in 2002 she moved to Los Angeles to keep pursuing acting.

While she was in school, Garcia studied acting at the Piven Theatre Workshop. At Northwestern University she appeared in local plays and musicals.
Behind the camera
In 2019, Garcia began writing with AJ Mendez, a former professional wrestler. Their first project together was GLOW vs. The Babyface, a comic book series based on the television series GLOW, and IDW Publishing released the first of four issues in November 2019.
