Plot summary
Fossil Ridge, Texas, is a small town where a recluse named Dr. Cane has been tinkering with bird DNA, and his work has left the area with meat-eating dinosaurs. One breaks free and leaves a trail of deaths, which brings two FBI agents, Logan and O'Reilly, to investigate. Abbi Whitecloud waits tables and sings when she can; her mother was among the casualties. She owes her boss, Eddie Wayne, money and works to pay it back. College friends Sheldon Macabeach, Lucas Young and Manbeast pass through and run out of gas, and the touring band Little Willie and the Willettes are stranded by engine trouble. Abbi offers Sheldon and Manbeast a ride to the rancher's place for gas, and Willie's drummer Kolin comes with them.
