Steve Kanaly
Biography
Steve Kanaly is an American actor, born in Burbank, California, and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He came into film acting through writer-director John Milius, who recommended him to John Huston for a Western role in The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean even though he had never acted before. He is best known for playing Ray Krebbs, the Southfork Ranch foreman, in the CBS soap opera Dallas between 1978 and 1989, and he returned to the part for the show's 1991 finale, the 1998 television film Dallas: War of the Ewings and the 2012 revival. His frequent collaborator John Milius cast him in films including Dillinger (1973), Big Wednesday (1978) and The Wind and the Lion (1975), and his other movies include The Terminal Man (1974), My Name Is Nobody and Midway. He also played Seabone Hunkle on All My Children from 1994 to 1995 and guest starred in many television series.
