Ami Dolenz
Biography
Ami Dolenz is an American-Canadian actress who retired from acting. Born in Burbank, California, she grew up in a show business family. At 15 she won a junior talent contest and chose acting, leaving high school for television roles. She appeared in The Children of Times Square and Growing Pains. She had a small part in Can't Buy Me Love (1987), then landed the role of Melissa McKee on General Hospital, earning two Young Artist Award nominations. After leaving the soap in 1989, she co-starred with Tony Danza in She's Out of Control (1989) and played Sloane Peterson in the short-lived sitcom Ferris Bueller. Later films included Children of the Night (1991), Miracle Beach (1992), Witchboard 2: The Devil's Doorway (1993) and Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings (1993). She voiced a character on The Secret Files of the Spy Dogs, returned in Mr. Id, and produced and appeared in Even If in 2007.
