Plot summary
In Palo Alto, April is a shy high school student teased by her classmates for being a virgin, and her soccer teammates notice that coach Mr. B shows her favoritism. Mr. B, a divorced father, asks her to babysit his son Michael and offers her the striker position in return. Teddy, an artist, and his best friend Fred, who gets them into trouble, are stoners; their classmate Emily has a reputation for casual sex. April and Teddy like each other without saying so. At a party, they drink with their classmates and each one grows jealous as the other flirts with someone else. Driving home from the party, Teddy crashes, and an officer arrests him.
