Plot summary
After his service in the British Army, Richard comes back to Matlock, Derbyshire, with payback on his mind. The targets are the drug dealers who abused his younger brother, Anthony, who is mentally impaired. Richard makes himself known to Herbie, and though Herbie does not recognize him at first, he brings word of Richard's return to Soz and Tuff, which unsettles them. Wearing a gas mask, Richard torments a drunk Herbie, and while the three go out to face him he slips into the flat and takes their drugs. That same night, Sonny, Big Al and Gypsy John are also tormented. When the men meet Richard, he invites them to the farm where he is staying.
