Plot summary
Avery and Logan were close friends as children and later became a couple. When Avery accepted an opportunity to work in London in 2014, Logan planned to propose at her farewell party, and she broke up with him instead. Ten years pass without a word between them. Then, at Christmas, they meet again by chance, each dating one of the Morgan siblings, and both are invited to the family home for the holiday. The siblings' mother, Erica, is overbearing, so Avery persuades Logan to hide their history. The Morgans gather for their annual portrait, and the two are sent to fetch a tree. Logan needs help with an architectural pitch and offers to help Avery win over the Morgans in return.
