Plot summary
The Eden Wildlife Zoo in northern Arizona houses rare animals and is close to opening. On intern orientation day, students are touring the grounds when monkeys in the clinic fall ill with an unknown disease. Veterinarians use intracardiac epinephrine to revive one monkey that has suffered a cardiac arrest, and the contagion spreads among the monkeys in the room, which turn predatory toward people. The attack sets off an alarm that reaches zoo security. Manager Ellen Rogers learns of the mayhem and orders a lockdown. Head of security Rex and his team, with student Gage, set out for the clinic, while newly hired Lizzy Hogan is among those at the park as the infection reaches more animals.
