Plot summary
On the Las Vegas Strip, Reuben Tishkoff is developing a hotel-casino, and against his friend Danny Ocean's advice he takes on investor Willy Bank as a partner. Bank's thugs strongarm him into signing away his share of the property, and the loss leaves Reuben bedridden after a heart attack. Danny asks Bank to make it right; Bank refuses and finishes the hotel under the name The Bank. Danny reassembles his crew of thieves and con artists to bring Bank down, with the scheme set for the hotel's opening night. Terry Benedict, their old enemy, has his own vendetta against Bank, so the crew asks him to help.

- Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones did not appear in their roles as Tess Ocean and Isabel Lahiri, the actresses not wanting to participate without a significant role, which the script would not accommodate.
- Topher Grace, who had cameoed in the previous two films as a heavily fictionalized version of himself, could not return because of reshoots on Spider-Man 3. He recalled that his planned cameo would have had him talking to Rusty while holding an Asian baby whose origin was never addressed.
