Plot summary
One of the calls that reaches telephone psychic Clementine Carter comes from a serial killer. She predicts each murder before he commits it, and the prediction pulls her into a cat-and-mouse contest with him. Her invalid father and a clairvoyant co-worker are the two people she enlists for aid. The three of them depend on abilities of their own to stay a step ahead of the man who is killing. What he does in the present is not the whole of it, since his past and his future hold worse.
