1. A first

   Miyavi's first worldwide tour, This Iz The Japanese Kabuki Rock Tour 2008, played 33 concerts across Japan, mainland China, South Korea, Taiwan, France, Finland, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, England, Germany, Brazil, Chile and the United States. It covered about 48,385 miles and was the most successful international tour by a Japanese artist in history.

   Big break

   Miyavi took his first professional acting role in Angelina Jolie's Unbroken as sergeant Mutsuhiro Watanabe, after hesitating over the film's sensitivity to Japanese people and deciding to accept once Jolie explained its theme of forgiveness.

3. Behind the camera

   Miyavi founded his own company, J-glam inc., in April 2009 after his ten-year contract with PS Company expired, and he served as its president.

4. About the name

   Miyavi joined the visual kei band Dué le Quartz in 1999 at seventeen under the stage name Miyabi, writing lyrics and composing before the band split in 2002 and he went solo as Miyavi.

5. Languages

   Miyavi went to America for six months, where he studied English, took dance classes, and gave street performances on weekends at Venice Beach.
