Plot summary
With the war on and their older siblings Peter and Susan in America, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie are staying in Cambridge with their cousin Eustace Scrubb. A painting of a ship on the sea empties water into their room and carries the three of them into an ocean in Narnia, where the crew of the Dawn Treader pulls them from the waves. King Caspian tells them he is sailing to find the seven lords his uncle Miraz exiled, who fled to the Lone Islands and have not been heard from since. Reepicheep, the talking mouse, and Captain Drinian sail with him, and Lucy and Edmund join the search.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Simon Pegg took over the voice of Reepicheep, the valiant swashbuckling mouse, replacing Eddie Izzard because director Michael Apted thought his voice more mature and serious; Bill Nighy had originally been announced as Izzard's replacement, but the studio thought his voice sounded too old for the role.
- Disney and Walden disputed over the budget after Prince Caspian grossed far less than The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: Disney wanted to limit it to $100 million, whereas Walden wanted a $140 million budget, of which Disney would only need to provide half.
- The end titles and credits featured original drawings created by Pauline Baynes for the Narnia books, included both to give the credits visual interest and because the film's creators wished to acknowledge Baynes, who died in August 2008.
- Douglas Gresham, the stepson of C. S. Lewis, appears as a slave buyer, and has made cameo appearances in all three Narnia films, all of which he produced.
- The filmmakers initially discussed shooting the film in 3D during principal photography but later decided to shoot with two-dimensional cameras to save on costs, and Prime Focus Group was hired in June 2010 to convert the film to 3D during post-production.
- It is the slowest Narnia film to reach $100 million in those regions, taking much longer than The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which managed it in nine days, and Prince Caspian, which took thirteen days.
- In addition to its production budget, Fox and Walden spent around $100 million to promote the film around the world.
