Love's Abiding Joy (2006) on Netflix

Plot summary

Missie and Willie LaHaye have planted roots on a homestead in the far West, raising son Mattie, baby daughter Kathy and their adopted son Jeff. Drought and a cattle plague have thinned the ranch's income, so Missie takes a teaching position while Willie works the land with Jeff and the ranch hands Scottie and Cookie. Samuel Doros, the town's mayor and a land baron, offers Willie the job of town sheriff, and Willie turns him down. Missie's father, Clark Davis, arrives for a visit and to help out for a few weeks. Doros's daughter Colette has taken an interest in Jeff.
