Love's Enduring Promise (2004) on Netflix

Plot summary

Missie Davis teaches school on the frontier and loves the prairie and her books. Her father, Clark, is chopping firewood when the axe slips and strikes his leg; a young man named Nate finds him and carries him home, then works the farm, which is more than the children can manage. The doctor says Clark must rest for weeks, so Missie closes the school and takes up the plowing. Nate comes upon her struggling with the plow in the rain and finishes the field the next day. Grant Thomas, a railroad man, had asked Missie to dine with him in town, and when she does not come he sets out for the Davis farm.
