John Laughlin

Biography

John Laughlin is an actor who, at 19, moved to Los Angeles with the aim of becoming a serious actor. He spent two years at the Film Industry Workshop before studying with established teachers. Within about two years in Hollywood he had landed two feature films and a role on the series White Shadow, which helped him secure a breakout part in An Officer and Gentleman. Paramount noticed his work and cast him in Footloose (1984) opposite Kevin Bacon, and he followed that with a three-picture deal beginning with a lead in Crimes of Passion alongside Kathleen Turner. He also had a substantial part in The Rock with Sean Connery. He went on to appear in Criminal Minds and The Defenders and to develop his own productions. Throughout his career he has taken starring, guest-star, and supporting roles in film and television.
