Plot summary
Deanna Miles and her husband Dan drop their 22-year-old daughter Maddie at Decatur University in Atlanta for her senior year, and Dan then asks Deanna for a divorce, saying he loves a realtor named Marcie. Deanna visits her parents, Mike and Sandy, and Mike denounces Dan, who pushed Deanna to quit college in her last year when she was pregnant. Deanna tells Maddie she plans to enroll at Decatur University and complete her archaeology degree. Maddie is doubtful but supportive.
