Plot summary
John Gold served as a soldier and now works as a mercenary. He learns that Dan Mason, a comrade from his service, has been murdered, and he sets out for the town of Devotion to find out what happened. The killing leads him into a conspiracy inside the military unit both men belonged to, and Gold sets about dealing with the people responsible.
