Plot summary
Ranchers and townspeople in Mason City have had enough of Tom Jordan, who leads a gang of cattle thieves and stagecoach robbers. Sheriff Hoppy is asked to bring him to justice, but the gang's hideout lies over the line in Oklahoma, where his warrant does not reach, and he can only take them for crimes committed in Texas. California and Johnny ride with him into Oklahoma, where Hoppy passes himself off as a cattle buyer. The gang gives the three of them an unfriendly welcome. Hoppy's answer is to drive the Jordan herd back across the river into Texas, so that the outlaws will come after their cattle and put themselves within his reach.
