Plot summary
Snape tells Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters that the Order of the Phoenix plans to move Harry Potter, whose protection has ended. Voldemort's attack on the journey kills Hedwig and Mad-Eye Moody. Harry escapes to Ron Weasley's home, where Minister for Magic Rufus Scrimgeour delivers bequests from Albus Dumbledore: a Deluminator for Ron, a book of tales for Hermione Granger, and the Golden Snitch from Harry's first Quidditch match. The Sword of Gryffindor, also left to Harry, cannot be found. At Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour's wedding, the guests learn that the Ministry has fallen. Death Eaters strike, and the three flee to Number 12, Grimmauld Place. From there they begin searching for the Horcruxes that hold Voldemort's secret to immortality.
