Plot summary
Charley Brewster lives with his mother, Jane, in a suburb of Las Vegas. A new neighbor, Jerry, moves in next door, and around the same time students at Charley's school begin to disappear, among them his friend Adam Johnson. Charley's former best friend, Ed, insists that Jerry is a vampire and that he has been recording proof. Charley calls him crazy and ends the friendship. Then Ed goes missing, and Charley begins looking into Jerry's house, where he finds evidence he cannot explain. He brings it to Peter Vincent, a Las Vegas stage magician known as an authority on vampires, who refuses to take him seriously.
