Plot summary
Georgia Nolan is sixteen and lives in New York, where her father Shawn once worked as a fireman before he retired to become a tailor. She wants that job too, and because the force hires no women, she trains in secret on the rooftop with her Dalmatian, Ember. When an arsonist sets the city's theaters burning with a strange purple fire and the city's firefighters begin to vanish, the mayor brings Shawn out of retirement to lead a young team. Georgia puts on the disguise of a man named Joe and joins that crew, alongside Jinn, who loves to drive fast, and Ricardo, who knows chemistry and physics.
