Biography

Born in Oldham, England, in 1993, Olivia Cooke is an English actress who started performing at the Oldham Theatre Workshop at age eight. She moved into television with the 2012 BBC miniseries Blackout and then won her first American role as Emma Decody in Bates Motel, which ran from 2013 to 2017. Her early films included The Quiet Ones (2014) and The Signal (2014), and she led the horror movie Ouija (2014). She went on to star in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015), which won the Grand Jury and Audience Awards at Sundance, as well as Thoroughbreds (2018), Ready Player One (2018), and Pixie (2020), and she played Becky Sharp in Vanity Fair in 2018. She appeared in Sound of Metal (2020) and executive produced Little Fish (2021). Since 2022 she has played Alicent Hightower in House of the Dragon, and she also appeared in Slow Horses as Sidonie Baker.
