Plot summary
Generations of storks on Stork Mountain carried newborns to families everywhere. Then one stork, Jasper, grew attached to an infant girl and tried to keep her; he dropped her address beacon, which shattered, and he went into exile. The storks raised the girl as Tulip. Hunter, the CEO, ended baby delivery and turned the company to shipping packages for Cornerstore.com. Tulip's ideas for Cornerstore keep failing and cost the company stock, and on her eighteenth birthday Hunter calls her a liability. Junior, his top delivery stork, is told to fire her before taking over as boss. Junior cannot do it and hides her in the unused mailroom instead. Meanwhile Nate Gardner, a lonely four-year-old whose parents work constantly, mails a letter asking for a sibling. Tulip loads it into the old baby-making machine, which produces a baby girl.

- Storks was originally going to be released on February 10, 2017, a date Warner Bros. reset for The Lego Batman Movie, and instead took September 23, 2016, which had been set for The Lego Ninjago Movie, pushed back a year.
- The film grossed $435,000 from its Thursday previews and just $5.7 million on its first day, which cut weekend projections to $20 million; it ended up opening to $21.8 million, second behind The Magnificent Seven's $35 million debut.
- The song "Kiss the Sky" by Jason Derulo was made for the film but does not appear on the soundtrack, and the Japanese release uses "Heiwa" by Ai as its theme song, a track named after her daughter.
