Plot summary
The Doherty family, wealthy and three in number, lives on a remote island in Florida that developers have not yet reached. Patrick Doherty drowns, and his death is presumed to be the result of an accidental drowning. His son Scott reacts with surprise and resentment when his mother, Maureen, plans to wed Oliver Vance soon after her husband's death. Scott meets Oliver's daughter Kelly, who shares his doubts about the planned wedding, and a heated romance begins between them. Scott has also been renovating a house of his own on the island, and the two of them look into the death together.
