Plot summary
Five friends are out on the water when their boat is struck by a vessel no one can identify. They make for an island, where an abandoned lighthouse stands, and a storm keeps them from leaving. That night they settle into a dilapidated house, and sounds they cannot place, objects they do not recognize and shadows that seem to watch them keep them uneasy. Tensions and secrets among the friends surface and pull at the group. A frantic young Latin woman bursts in, insisting that pirates are on their way. It is no longer clear on the island what is real and what is not.
