Plot summary
Between 1965 and 1967, the Laurel Canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles drew a new generation of musicians. Folk went electric, and bands came to the city hoping to follow the Beatles. The Byrds, the Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield and the Mamas and the Papas made the sound that came to be called the California Sound. Musicians of that era, along with later followers, perform those songs in concert at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, and the scene they came out of is explored through their own accounts.
