Graham Nash

Biography

Graham Nash, a British and American singer, songwriter and musician, grew up in Salford and first made his name with the Hollies, the pop group he co-founded in the early 1960s with school friend Allan Clarke. He wrote much of their material and sang lead on singles such as On a Carousel and Carrie Anne. In 1968 he left to form Crosby, Stills & Nash with David Crosby and Stephen Stills, later a quartet with Neil Young, and wrote hits including Teach Your Children and Marrakesh Express. He recorded solo, beginning with Songs For Beginners in 1971, and as a duo with Crosby, and briefly rejoined the Hollies in 1983. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted him with Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1997 and again with the Hollies in 2010, and he was appointed an OBE in 2010 and is also a photography collector and digital printing pioneer.
