Plot summary
The MDNA Tour is Madonna's ninth concert tour, mounted after the release of MDNA, her twelfth studio album. It travels through America, Europe and the Middle East, taking her to the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Scotland and Colombia for the first time. The show is divided into four parts: Transgression, built on guns and violence; Prophecy, joyful songs that bring people together; Masculine/Feminine, mixing sensuality and fashion with older numbers in a French cabaret style; and Redemption, a party. Madonna has described the arc as a soul's passage from darkness into light. The shows at the American Airlines Arena in Miami were recorded, and footage from other stops was gathered alongside them. Madonna spent six months editing the material, shaping each number as a miniature film that also shows her influence on younger artists, dancers and fans.
