Plot summary

Jason Becker first touched a guitar at five and had reached the cover of guitar magazines by the time The David Lee Roth Band drafted him as lead guitarist at 19. He followed Eddie van Halen and Steve Vai in that role. Not long after, doctors diagnosed him with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, called Lou Gehrig's disease, and gave him three to five years to live. He finished recording Roth's third album, A Little Ain't Enough, then could not join the tour as he lost movement. Music continued anyway: albums written after he could no longer move or speak, and an eye pattern chart his father Gary Becker invented for him to communicate. The film draws on the family's photographs, home film and interviews with family members and guitarists.
