Plot summary
In London in 2013, Kate Lethbridge-Stewart of UNIT brings the Eleventh Doctor and Clara Oswald to the National Gallery, where figures have vanished from three-dimensional paintings, a technology of the Doctor's own people, the Time Lords. In 1562, the Tenth Doctor finds that Zygons, shapeshifters, have entered the court of Elizabeth I. The War Doctor, an earlier incarnation, is caught in the war between the Time Lords, his own people, and the Daleks, and prepares to trigger a sentient weapon called the Moment, which could end both sides. The Moment opens a fissure that brings the three Doctors together in 1562 England.
