Plot summary
Australian bushman Mick Dundee shares a New York apartment with journalist Sue Charlton. His attempts to keep up his old habits in the city, such as blast fishing in local waters, cause trouble, while Sue's articles about him make him a popular figure. Wanting occupation, Mick accepts an offer of work from his friend Leroy Brown. Sue's former husband, Bob Tanner, is in Colombia with the Drug Enforcement Administration. He photographs Luis Rico, a drug cartel leader, killing a man, and mails the pictures to Sue. Rico and his lieutenant Miguel travel to New York to recover the photographs. They seize Sue, and Rico tells Mick to bring the envelope to a subway station.
