Plot summary
Advertising executive Nick Beam returns home to find his wife Ann with another man and takes the man for his boss, Philip Barrow, after spotting a pair of Philip's cufflinks in the kitchen. He is carjacked by Terrence Paul Davidson, who climbs into the car and tries to rob him. Nick turns the tables, kidnaps him and drives to a diner in the Arizona desert. T-Paul robs a gas station, and the pair then agree to rob Philip's office safe in revenge. Nick knows the combination; T-Paul knows the security system and the electronic locks.

- Although Tony! Toni! Toné!'s "If I Had No Loot" was the film's theme song, it was a remixed version of Lil' Kim's "Not Tonight", featuring Da Brat, Left Eye, Angie Martinez and Missy Elliott, that garnered the most attention from the soundtrack, reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100.
- In 1993 Bregman/Baer Productions bought the rights to the script, beating out 20th Century Fox and Paramount Pictures, and had originally planned to develop it as a vehicle for John Leguizamo.
- The film made its debut at #4 at the North American box office with $11,617,767 on its opening weekend in 1,862 theaters, and during its run made a domestic total of $44,480,039 against a production budget of $25 million.
