Plot summary
Separated from his mother as a puppy, a collie grows up on his own in a forest, a descendant of Lassie. He gets to know the woods and the wild creatures in them. Kathie Merrick finds him and brings him home, and she gives him the name Bill. The shepherd Harry MacBain puts him to work with the sheep, and Bill guards the flock.

- A 2010 Film Score Monthly collection of MGM's Lassie scores, including Courage of Lassie's, was limited to 1,000 copies; nearly half of the music masters were lost, so the scores had to be reconstructed from Music and Effects tracks and mono tapes.
