Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier was not made as a cinema film: it is an edited and recut compilation of the first three episodes of the Davy Crockett television miniseries, Davy Crockett Indian Fighter, Davy Crockett Goes to Congress and Davy Crockett at the Alamo.
- The three segments proved popular enough that Walt Disney gave them a theatrical release, and the film remains Disney's most successful television film project, later inspiring two prequel episodes released in cinemas as Davy Crockett and the River Pirates.
