Plot summary
Two builders at a Hartman Construction site dig into a catacomb sealed in 1666 by order of Charles II and awaken something inside. In the East End, Terry MacGuire and his brother Andy plan a bank robbery to save the retirement home where their grandfather Ray lives. Their cousin Katy joins them, along with Davey Tuppence and Mental Mickey, an unstable Iraq War veteran with a metal plate in his forehead, and they gather weapons. Ray and residents Peggy, Darryl, Doreen and Eric shelter in the kitchen when the outbreak reaches the home. The bank holds a far bigger sum than the crew expected, and the manager alerts the police.

- Director Matthias Hoene and writer James Moran approached Alan Ford to play Ray because whoever played him had to symbolise "what a cockney is"; Ford accepted after joking that the script felt written for him.
- Cockneys vs Zombies was Richard Briers's final acting credit; he died the following year. It was also the last film appearance of Honor Blackman, who died on 5 April 2020.
