Plot summary
At a local labor exchange, people complain that there is no decent work. Nearby, Bert Handy and his secretary Miss Cooling are setting up Helping Hands, an agency that supplies staff for whatever jobs come in. Word spreads, and Sam Twist, Francis Courtenay, Delia King, Gabriel Dimple, Lily Duveen, Mike Weston and Montgomery Infield-Hopping turn up looking for work. Bert takes them all on. A customer arrives speaking gobbledygook, and nobody can understand him; Francis, who knows sixteen languages, is not in the office. Delia is asked to try on a full wardrobe, Sam is sent to sit a baby that is not there, and Francis is hired to walk someone's pet, a chimpanzee.

- The Helping Hand agency's exterior was the corner of Park Street and Sheet Street in Windsor, Berkshire. A decade later that same corner was used again as the Wedded Bliss agency in Carry On Loving.
- Carry On Regardless was the last Carry On film for early series regular Terence Longdon, and the first for Liz Fraser, who went on to appear in three more of them.
