Terence Alexander
Biography
Terence Alexander was an English actor who began acting in the theater at 16. Born in London in 1923, he grew up in Yorkshire and attended Ratcliffe College in Leicestershire and Norwood College in Harrogate. In 1956 he took a stage role in Ring For Catty at London's Lyric Theatre. On screen he was best known as Charlie Hungerford in the drama Bergerac, appearing in all but two episodes from 1981 to 1991, and he was prominent in the BBC's 1967 version of The Forsyte Saga. His early television work included Garry Halliday, and he later appeared in Please, Sir!, The Champions, The Avengers, The Persuaders!, Terry and June, Doctor Who and The New Statesman. He played Lord Uxbridge in Waterloo (1970). His West End credits included comedies and farces such as Move Over, Mrs Markham, Two and Two Make Sex, There Goes The Bride and Fringe Benefits. He died in 2009.
