Liz Fraser
Biography
Liz Fraser was a British actress who became known for provocative comedy roles. Born in Southwark, London, she trained at the London School of Dramatic Art after evening classes at Goldsmiths College, and made her first film appearance in Touch and Go (1955) under her birth name, Elizabeth Joan Winch. She worked with Peter Sellers in The Smallest Show on Earth (1957) and broke through as the daughter of his character in I'm All Right Jack (1959), earning a BAFTA nomination as Most Promising Newcomer. She appeared in early Carry On films including Carry On Regardless (1961), Carry On Cruising (1962) and Carry On Cabby (1963), and later returned in Carry On Behind (1975). Her other films included Two-Way Stretch (1960), The Americanization of Emily (1964), Dad's Army (1971) and several sex comedies. On television she appeared in Hancock's Half Hour and The Avengers, and starred in the radio sitcom Parsley Sidings.
