Plot summary
In Care-a-lot, Grumpy is building a carousel for the Care Bear Fair. The ride spins out of control and crashes, and when Funshine jokes about height restrictions to lift Grumpy's mood, the other Bears laugh but Grumpy does not. Grumpy tells him that if he cannot tell cheering someone up from making fun of them, he may not belong in Care-a-lot. The Bears go to his house to make up and find him gone, his note saying he has left for somewhere his jokes are valued. Five of them set off after him. Funshine follows circus music, rides a bumper car to Joke-a-lot, a town where humor governs daily life, and parachutes into the square, astonishing the residents.
