Plot summary
As a child on a tropical island, Juanita loses her parents in a voodoo rite and escapes with her life. Grown up and married, she feels she must return, and she brings her daughter, Nancy, and the nanny who looks after the child. Her uncle has a house on the island, and she stays with him. The islanders had used her in their ceremonies when she was small, and they now regard her as a voodoo goddess.
