Plot summary
Frank Vega returns from Vietnam a decorated soldier, and the city he comes back to has no use for him. He has no job and no high school sweetheart anymore. Forty years on, a commuter bus ride turns when two skinheads go after an elderly passenger, and Frank beats them both. The fight makes him a local celebrity, nicknamed Bad Ass. T-shirts and graffiti carry his face, talk shows invite him on, and the police offer him ride-alongs. His closest friend, the veteran Klondike Washington, moves into his home and hands him a USB flash drive. Then Klondike is found murdered in an alley, the police make no progress, and Frank starts looking into the killing himself.
