Andy Davoli

Andy Davoli is an actor who started on stage at six years old. As a teenager he studied clowning and magic before moving to New York City, where he trained at the Stella Adler Academy. Martin Scorsese spotted him and gave him a small part in Bringing Out the Dead (1999). He appeared with Charlize Theron, Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix in The Yards (2000). After his audition for the HBO series The Sopranos (1999), David Chase created the recurring part of Dino Zerilli for the third season. David Mamet cast him on the spot after his audition for Spartan (2004). He beat other actors for Scarpa in Knockaround Guys (2001) and took the lead as Basil in Welcome to Collinwood (2002). He appeared opposite Kenneth Branagh and Cynthia Nixon in Warm Springs (2005), an HBO miniseries nominated for a Golden Globe. His lead in the short Lucky Clown (2007) helped it reach the Cannes and Venice festivals.
