Plot summary
Sam is a college student who has recently been dumped by her boyfriend over video chat. She accepts Mark's invitation to a small New Year's Eve pre-party, where the evening seems to be going well until Jed switches on the television. A newscast describes what looks like an isolated act of violence. The attack is not isolated: the group becomes the focus of one and barricades itself indoors. Through news and social media they learn that a new disease is spreading, with various symptoms, among them uncontrolled violence. Brian, a friend of Jed's confined to his dorm room, chronicles events online through a site called Social Redroom.
