Plot summary
A multinational corporation takes over the Norwich station North Norfolk Digital, and the staff are told that there will be layoffs. Alan Partridge, one of its presenters, is not worried, but his colleague Pat Farrell asks him to raise the matter with the new owners. The owners intend to let one of the two men go, and Alan puts Pat's name forward rather than his own. Pat returns to the station during a company party carrying a shotgun, seizes the people inside, and demands to be reinstated. The police bring Alan in as their go-between, and Pat comes to trust him. Alan's co-presenter, Sidekick Simon, joins him on air, and the siege becomes a national story.
