Plot summary
Grandma and Grandpa Addams have come down with a condition that is steadily turning them normal, and Gomez wants to reverse it. He gathers the whole family for a reunion, hoping a relative somewhere knows a home remedy. The invitation he mails is written in blood, and it damages the equipment at the company handling the reunion, so the Addamses receive the wrong one. Gomez and Morticia travel to the resort with Uncle Fester, Lurch and the two grandparents. At the resort Gomez meets a psychiatrist, Dr. Adams, and his sister Katherine, and hopes the doctor can help his grandparents.

- Anjelica Huston and Christopher Lloyd were approached to reprise Morticia and Uncle Fester, but both turned the film down out of respect for Raul Julia, who played Gomez in the two Paramount films and had died in 1994.
- Director Dave Payne wanted a dark fantasy film in the vein of the Coen brothers, but Saban wanted him to imitate Barry Sonnenfeld's films and the 1964 TV show, and rejected every original idea he and the screenwriters proposed.
- Payne developed a "dark and edgy" opening sequence with music by the film's composer, but Saban, without telling him, replaced both the titles and the music with a boy band in bright fluorescent-colored shirts.
- Ed Begley Jr. arrived for his first day as a tennis pro without knowing how to play tennis, so the director shot around it, and as a dedicated environmentalist he refused to wear any leather or animal-based costumes.
