Plot summary
Dane Jensen works at Blackridge Recruitment, a headhunting agency in Chicago. His boss, Ed Blackridge, offers him a promotion that would put him in control of the company, but he has to beat the numbers of his ambitious rival, Lynn Vogel, to get it. Dane pours himself into the contest, and his wife Elise asks him to give the family more of his time. He takes their son Ryan jogging because he thinks the boy is overweight, and notices that Ryan complains of fatigue and has bruises he cannot explain. A doctor's diagnosis pulls Dane between the promotion he wants and the family that needs him.
