Plot summary
A military experiment with a serum called XT1258 turns a soldier into a zombie, and the leftover barrels are loaded up for disposal. The convoy loses its way, and when a barrel rolls off behind a bowling arcade, its contents leak into the ice cream. Tim, who works at the arcade, shares the ice cream with his friends Mike, Cindy and Vanessa. All four pass out and wake up as the undead, though they still see themselves as ordinary people. Cindy complains of a stomachache, and when Vanessa tries to call an ambulance the operator speaks and hangs up too quickly. A private named Nick joins them as they search for a working phone, and he tells them about the serum and about his own exposure to it.
