Plot summary
John Ebony arrives at a school as a new teacher. The master who taught the class before him was killed by the pupils, and Ebony comes to suspect that the boys did it. That same class is now his. When he raises his concerns about his predecessor, they are treated as paranoia, and he sets about making sure the same thing does not happen to him.

- David Hemmings made Unman, Wittering and Zigo without telling Hemdale, the company that had exclusive call on his services, and the breach led to a lawsuit.
- Interiors and most other scenes were shot in the buildings of Reading Blue Coat School in Sonning, Berkshire, which let the production use some of its own pupils as extras during the summer holidays.
- Unman, Wittering and Zigo was the only film made by Mediarts, the company founded in London and Hollywood in 1969 by Gareth Wigan, Richard Gregson and Alan Livingston; it had been planned as the first of four.
