Plot summary
The DBs, short for Diamondbacks, are a summer league baseball team, and John "Maz" Mazello is one of their players. The team has reached the league semifinals. Minutes earlier, Maz found out that he was not taken in the Major League Baseball draft. He decides to play in the semifinal anyway, despite the disappointment. The DBs face the Bulldogs, whose lineup includes ringers, so the team has to play extra hard to win. The misfit players around him become important to Maz while he deals with his dashed dream.
